Maité Duquela

Coordinator of the National Future Fishermen Coalition

Maité holds a Master’s Degree in environmental management, economics and policy from the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in economics from the Santo Domingo Institute of Technology, in the Dominican Republic, where she was born and raised.

Her career has been focused on mixed-methods research, data analysis, community outreach and stakeholder engagement, coalition building, program design and project management, and communications. Her main interest is working on the design-to-implementation pipeline of projects, programs, and policies that support sustainable resource management and strengthen climate-resilient systems.
